Job Description
Position Summary:
The Video Editor is responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished product that aligns with the brand's vision and storytelling goals. Working closely with the creative team, the Video Editor plays a critical role in producing high-quality, engaging, and impactful video content for a variety of platforms, including social media, websites, advertising, and internal communications.
This role requires a strong creative eye, technical proficiency in editing software, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling through video, stays up to date with trends in media and editing styles, and can collaborate with a diverse team of creatives and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Video Editing & Production

Edit raw footage into polished video content that meets creative and strategic goals.

Add music, sound effects, graphics, subtitles, and transitions to enhance storytelling.

Cut and rearrange scenes, adjust audio levels, correct color, and apply filters or effects to create a cohesive visual style.

Export final videos in multiple formats for various platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, websites, etc.).

Maintain a consistent brand look and feel across all video content.
2. Collaboration

Work closely with producers, videographers, designers, marketers, and copywriters to understand project objectives and deliver the desired outcome.

Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for storytelling, shot composition, and visual effects.

Communicate regularly with stakeholders to review drafts and incorporate feedback into final edits.
3. Organization & Asset Management

Organize and archive raw footage, edited projects, and project files in an efficient and systematic way.

Manage and maintain a digital library of assets including video clips, sound effects, graphics, and licensed music.

Ensure all media used complies with copyright laws and licensing agreements.
4. Technical Support & Equipment Knowledge

Understand and stay up-to-date with video formats, codecs, resolutions, and industry-standard practices.

Troubleshoot technical issues with footage, software, and exports.

Assist with file conversions, compressions, or resizing for various channels and purposes.
5. Trend Awareness & Innovation

Stay informed about the latest trends in video editing, social media content, visual storytelling, and emerging platforms.

Apply innovative ideas and modern editing styles to help videos stand out and increase viewer engagement.
