Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Virtualization and Cloud Engineer to join our

dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 4 years of experience in

virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, containerization, and orchestration tools. This

role involves designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions, virtual environments,

and containerized applications, ensuring optimal performance and availability of resources.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and Deployment:

o Design and deploy virtualization solutions using technologies such as

VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.

o Implement and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS,

Azure, Google Cloud, or other cloud service providers.

o Develop and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for virtualized

environments and cloud-based resources.

o Design and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

o Implement and manage container orchestration platforms such as OpenShift

and OpenStack.

2. Configuration and Management:

o Configure and maintain virtual machines, storage, and networking components

in virtualized environments.

o Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and performance to ensure cost

efficiency and scalability.

o Manage cloud services and ensure seamless integration with on-premises

systems.

o Configure and manage container environments and orchestrate workloads

using Kubernetes and OpenShift.

3. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

o Provide technical support for virtualization, cloud, and container-related

issues, including troubleshooting and resolving performance problems.

o Perform regular maintenance tasks, including updates and patches, for

virtualization, cloud platforms, and container environments.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve technical

challenges and implement solutions.

4. Security and Compliance:

o Ensure the security and compliance of virtualized environments, cloud

resources, and containerized applications by implementing appropriate

security measures and policies.

o Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address

potential vulnerabilities.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain detailed documentation for virtualization, cloud, and container

configurations, processes, and procedures.

o Generate reports on cloud and container usage, performance, and cost analysis

for management review.

6. Continuous Improvement:

 o Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in virtualization, cloud,

container, and orchestration technologies.

o Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and best practices to

improve the efficiency and effectiveness of virtualized, cloud, and container

environments.

Requirements:

1. Educational Background:

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related

field. Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, AWS

Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator,

Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are highly desirable.

2. Experience:

o At least 3 to 4 years of experience in virtualization technologies, cloud

platforms, containerization, and orchestration tools.

3. Technical Skills:

o Proven experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V,

KVM).

o Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

o Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker,

Kubernetes).

o Experience with OpenShift and OpenStack platforms.

o Strong knowledge of networking, storage, and security concepts related to

virtualization, cloud computing, and containerization.

o Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash,

Terraform).
