CCE-PROFICIENCE was established with the objective of providing a sustained and rigorous continuing education program offering courses on subject of topical interest to scientists and engineers in and around Bangalore.
This program, believed to be the first of its kind in the country, is a joint venture between IISc and several Professional Institutions/Societies in Bangalore. admit all the eligible applicants.
Every year, there has been a steady increase in the number of students as well as the types of courses offered indicative of the growing popularity of this Program.
About 660 courses have been offered under this program hitherto spread over 54 terms. To date, nearly 29300 applicants have been offered admission and they have benefited through their participation in this program.
This program offers semester long courses in areas of topical interest. The courses are organized during evening hours so that working professionals can participate without affecting their normal work.
These courses are in fact offered to the IISc students regularly. The participants in certain selected courses are provided practical training in computer and other laboratories, as appropriate.
The course contents are regularly upgraded on the basis of feedback from the faculty and the participants. Test and examinations are conducted according to IISc norms.
